Farsighted 3 year old

My 3 year old son was diagnosed with +11 farsightedness yesterday.  I was referred to a pediatric specialist and would like to know what questions I should be prepared to answer and ask.  I would also like to know how much help he is likely to receive from glasses and for how long.  My farsightedness has increased with age but I'm only at +4.5, so I'm trying to understand what will likely occur as he gets older.

No one can tell you whether your son will develop crossed eyes, amblyopia or angle closure glaucoma as he gets older. He may have an abnormal eye called nanophthalmolos. Your pediatric Eye MD will be able to give you better answers after the exam. You son will need to be watched closely all his life for eye problems.

children that are farsighted can see without glasses but it may cause their eyes to cross (accommodative esotrophia) or eye strain. Assuming you saw an Eye MD ophthalmologist go by their recommendations.
