Feeling pulse in eye (mostly visibly)?

by HypochondriacExtraordinaire, Jul 18, 2009 12:11PM
I feel a slight movement in my field of vision that occurs with my pulse. I also have a feeling of a decreased ability to focus with my eyes (no blurring though) when this occurs. I have not undergone an eye examination, but the pediatrician who has been diagnosing my BP and Tachycardia issues suggested that it is likely related. I am now on Propranolol for the BP and heartrate, and this has seemed to lessen the severity of my eye issue. Do you think it is an accurate assumption to make that my other issues are the cause.

Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.

Have your parents take you to have a complete eye examination with an ophthalmologist.  I have heard of such symptoms in the past, especially associated with anxiety and hypertension.  Again, it is very important to have a complete eye examination with an ophthalmologist.

IT may be relevant to add that during a cough I notice a slight darkening of the visual field.

By that I mean I see a purplish spots and lines (blood vessels) around my peripheral vision when I cough (chest cough).
