Flakes at base of eye lashes

I have re-occuring flakes at the very base of my eye lashes. Have tried several different things . If I take a mascara brush and scrape off, it reappears the next day. Any suggestions?

Thank you John..I think that's exactly what it is. Any home remedy besides washing with baby shampoo?  Thanks again.

Use Ocusoft foam eyelid cleaner or Theratears Sterilid foam eyelid cleaner both available over the counter. Works better than baby shampoo.  Don't neglect seeing an Eye MD for a complete exam. Find one near you at www.aao.org
