Flashes after Laser surgery

One week after laser surgery I started having arc or circle shaped flashes in treated eye. These were not present before surgery. It then increased in frequency for next 2-3 days and now the frequency started decreasing. Can someone explain this phenomenon? and how these flashes developed after surgery?

I read on numerous posts that after laser there is local viterous traction on site of tear. What is the reason behind this traction after laser? I had no traction before tear as I was seeing no flashes but these flashes happened after laser.

It contracts like a burn. The laser is intense heat.  Usually the flashes stop within a couple of months but people on this forum report them lasting for years.  Discuss with your surgeon.

Use the search feature and archives. It is a common question and common observation. usually due to contraction of the retina from the laser burn. Do report it to your surgeon.
