Flying after Retinal Surgery - How Soon?

It has been 5 weeks since retinal surgery. The bubble type used is a c3f8 and it is now at about 40%.
The surgery consisted of a Vitrectomy, Laser surgery (photocoagulation), and a Scleral buckle.
Results of surgery are looking real good currently and my eye pressures have been staying 12-15. How much longer is recommended before flying about a 3 hour flight?
Eye doctor said the bubble should be dissipated (or nearly dissipated) in 3 more weeks and it should be safe to fly at that point.
Just posting the question here for additional opinions.

Retina detachment surgery is so unique and individualistic that its not possible to generalize. The only one that can give the 'all clear to fly" okay is your retina surgeon.

@Dill206, were you given a wristband to wear admonishing ER personnel to not use nitrous oxide in the event of a medical emergency? Also, I personally would not fly until several days after the gas has completely dissipated. You will likely know when that has happened.
yes - also carry one in my wallet
