Flying after having a retinal tear lasered.

On July 15, 2016, I experienced posterior vitreous detachment in my right eye, after which a blood vessel broke. On July 22, what was determined to be a retinal (hole) tear was lasered shut, which stopped the bleeding. My vision is much better, but I still feel like I am looking out a "dirty window" in my right eye. I was advised that my vision should return to (almost) normal in as short as two more weeks, and as long as 3-4 months. My question is: Is it safe for me to fly? My eye doctor said that although the hole was lasered, it takes time for it to close completely (or, as she said, for the laser to completely "glue" it shut). I was planning on taking a short (90 minute) trip from Tokyo to Hokkaido in two more weeks. My eye doctor said it was a personal choice, but that she would wait until October. I have no experience with this and cannot make a clear choice. I wonder if you have some advice on this topic? Thank you in advance.

You must get permission from your surgeon but flying is generally only a problem if there is gas in injected into the eye and present when the person wishes to fly.
