Frustrating Eye Pain

Over the last two years I have had increasing eye strain pain, muscle soreness, redness and diffculty focusing.  As I try to read or use a computer my focus comes and goes leaving me squinting and frustrated... it breaks my concentration and is starting to affect my work!  

I've had my eyes tested time and again by highly skilled opthamologists and local optometrists.  Every lens perscription has been different... all say I have a form of astigmatism - some say I'm both near and far sigghted - one suggested a prism lens, which seemed to help for a while, but all glasses perscribed have only offer minimal relief.  As expected, the strain and pain gets worse when I'm tired - and I also become extremely sensitive to light.  Nevertheless, even after a good night's sleep I still have the eye strain and muscle pain when I wake in the morning suggesting its more than merely tired vision.

I'm frustrated not getting any clear answers - any ideas???

Unfortunately, I can not be of help with the information provided.  Obviously not a simple answer since you have seen and ophthalmologist and optometrist.
