Fungal Eye Infections and Steroids & Antibiotics
Dear Physician:

I have been given 6 different drugs over the past 8 months after vitrectomy, cataract surgeries and blepharitis.  Allergan Restasis Cyclosporine (0.5%), ToraDex (tobramycin and dexamenthasone), Bausch & Lonb Alrex Ioteprednol etabonate (0.2%), Omnipred (prednisolone acetate (2.0%, Xibrom (bromfenac (0.09% and Bacitracin Ointment (500 units) are the drugs and ointment given to me at various points in these procedures; however, the vitrectomy was last July.  Can these various drugs cause my body to have a fungal infection and lower my resistant to other diseases?  I'm only asking because I now think I have a yeast infection and I'm getting over an upper respiratory infection.

Thank you

In eye drop or ointment form the blood concentration of these meds are too low to cause lung or fungal problems.
