Ghosting in my right eye

Dear Dr Sandy,

I would like to know that i see ghosting or drop shadow from my right eye. When i see through with a pinhole the ghosting is gone and the image is clear. May i know what this problem is ? I showed to my doctor he is like you have irregular stigmatism in my right eye. So is it harmful ?

Let me add something more to it. If i press my right eye from below. It clears out the ghosting. I never had this problem.  Is it lazy eye

This could be due to regular or irregular astigmatism, with or without a corneal scar.  A cataract can also cause blurred vision that improves with a pinhole.  A corneal topography test would be very helpful to see what type of astigmatism you have.  A complete exam can determine if a cataract is to blame.  If there is regular astigmatism, then glasses, contacts, or refractive surger are possible options.  For irregular astigmatism, it is a much more complex situations as the causes are multiple and treatments quite variable.  See a corneal specialist ophthalmologist if you are found to have irregular astigmatism.
