Glare after cataract surgery

Glare after cataract surgery

After implant of a standard IOL three years ago I have glare when confronted with bright lights.  Car headlights appear to have a huge thin slash across them.  Fortunately the slash does not block my view of the road.  When I asked my doctor after surgery he said it could be a "wavy surface on the back of the lens capsule".  This sounded evasive.  Recently I saw some posts that suggest that light is getting around the lens implant when the pupil is wide open.  Although this is probably not correctable, I would like to know if something could be done differently when I have my other eye done.  Perhaps a larger diameter lens?

Get a second opinion.  You could use a drop to make your pupils smaller.
