Glaucoma suspect criteria

Glaucoma suspect criteria

Would large optic nerve discs make someone (specifically, a caucasian woman, age 58) suspicious for glaucoma?  Or would more than this one risk factor have to be present for her to be considered a glaucoma suspect?,  (She has normal visual fields, no family history, IOP of 13 right, 14 left).  Would this woman be considered a glaucoma suspect for the rest of her life?  Lastly, which test has proven to be more accurate in predicting glaucoma, HRT or OCT?  Thank you for your time.

Dear Ruthiejb,

I would recommend that you go to an eyeMD specializing in glaucoma to answer your questions.  Without a complete eye examination and knowledge of all possible risk factors, your questions would not be answered properly.

She is under an opthalamologist's care, of course.  I thought perhaps the question regarding HRT vs OCT might be general enough, but I guess it isn't.
