'Gossamer' veil (floater?)

Hello,
I had a retinal tear over 2 years ago.  It took 3 laser applications to finally seal it.  I have been seeing my Retinal Specialist at the prescribed appointments.  The one item that does not seem to be answered is why I am still having a "floater", if that is what it is?  I call it a 'floater' because it does 'move' around.  Its like a 'gossamer' veil that sort of makes the vision not totally clear.  I was told back when the surgeries first started this might/would happen but with time it would eventually clear up.  It's 2 years later and it has not.  It is annoying. But I can live with it if that is what I am told is my life is to be now?  Is my 'gossamer' something I will have to live with the rest of my life?  I'm 67 and male.

Hi! I am 58 years old. In 2010 I had a retinal tear due to PVD (post-vitreous detatchment). Laser sealed the tear. Three weeks later I had PVD in the other eye. No retinal tear. I have floaters in both eyes - more significant in the eye that had the retinal tear. It often seems I'm looking through a veil. But, - and this is a big "but" - I CAN SEE. I read, drive a car, enjoy life. Any changes we go through in life take some adjustment. I had to learn to relax, accept the visual changes, and be extremely grateful for the precious gift of vision. I understand your feeling of annoyance because I felt that way in the beginning. Then I relaxed and realized that things could be so much worse. I am so thankful I can see as well as I do.  A lot of us have to deal with the pesky floaters; some can be quite dense. With much compassion & understanding, - - if you can read, drive, SEE, .... you have much to be grateful for.  I do understand.
