Gradual Vision Loss in Right Eye

In February, 2007 the corrected vision in my right eye was 20/20.  One year later, the best corrected vision in my right is 20/70.  The vision in my right eye has the appearance that Vaseline has been smeared over it.  My eye doctor tells me that, although I don't have cataracts, he is reasonably sure that lense replacement would restore my vision to 20/20.  He has ruled out a problem with my cornea and my retina.  He tells me that my lense is most likely "bent."  This sounds weird to me and I can't seem to find anything on the internet that even remotely addresses this.  Does anyone know of anything like this?
Thank you.

Thanks for the answer.  I don't have memory loss or headaches nor do I have any problem with the way my eye moves.  Actually, two different doctors told me the same regarding the lense.  Its annoying and frightening.  I don't believe I could pass a driving test at this time.

Good luck to you.

When my vision went to 20/70 & in my right eye too, my retinal specialist immediately sent me to a neuro-opthamologist whom after am MRI of my brain with & without contrast which turned out to be okay - no tumors.   Then she sent me for a spinal tap & my spinal fluid pressure was almost double what it was supposed to be.  It's called Pseudotumor.
Do you have headaches?  Memory loss?
My eye itself was perfect so I was sent to the neuro-opthamologist.
You may check into it, but I'm not a doctor, just a fellow one eyed man.  And now the other one's starting to go!
