HELP! News about my case!

2 years ago I posted my case here: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Eye-Care/replace-monofocal-crystallin-implants--with-multifocal-lens/show/608403

My name is Stefoane Madalin I am 23 years old and I study dentistry at the University of Timisoara.
I have a very rare and complicated eye condition, which requires a difficult surgical treatment .At 18, I began to have problems with my vision. I saw a doctor who told me I had cataract, he removed my lens and replaced it with a monofocal implant. Later, I found out that the lens implant was unnecessary, because my problem was not cataract, but hyperopia. After the crystallin replacement, I had excimer laser therapy done to reduce the diopters for distance vison. Then I developed secondary cataract, which was treated with yag laser. Now I have to use glasses all the time for near vision
I asked about the possibility to replace the monofocal crystallin with a multifocal one, but every Romanian doctor I saw told me the surgical intervention is very difficult to perforom, and there is a considerable risk that my vision will get worse.  The capsule of the crystallin was damaged during the previous intervention and it will have to be removed, then the vitreus will bulge into the anteriour chamber
I asked about the possibility to replace the monofocal crystallin with a multifocal one, but every Romanian doctor I saw told me the surgical intervention is very difficult to perforom, and there is a considerable risk that my vision will get worse.  The capsule of the crystallin was damaged during the previous intervention and it will have to be removed, then the vitreus will bulge into the anteriour chamber, and an anterior vitrectomy will be necessary, as well as another intervention for my astigmatism.
Now I have difficulties with accomodation and I have to change glasses all the time in order to see clearly. Being a dental student, I need a sharp vision all the time and it is difficult for me to manage. I also have problems with driving at night, because I see halos around objects.

NOW: Two weeks ago I had my monofocal crystallins removed and replaced with 3 –piece- Rezoom IOLs. Now the diopters are the following:
VD=12.0 mm
Right eye:
SPH CYL AXS
-1.75 -1.00 89
-2.00 -1.25 97
*-1.75 0.00
-1.50 -0.50 97
Left eye:

SPH CYL AXS
-2.25 -3.50 7
-2.25 -3.25 8
*-2.25 -3.50 7
-2.00 -3.75 6

The right IOL was a little displaced during the procedure.
The left eye had divergent strabismus before the surgery.
Now I have ghosting at both eyes, like in this image:

http://www.visionsimulations.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=67&Itemid=160
What could be the causes of ghosting? Will it disapper in time or will I need another surgery?
what is the difference between diplopia and ghosting?
Thank you.

You went from crystalens to a ReZoom IOL? That's like out of the frying pan and into the fire. In several articles published in medical journals Dr. Mike Kutryb of this forum and me have studied all the postings regarding IOLs over a year.  Multifocal IOLs are 23 times more likely to have complaints than monofocal IOLs. ReZoom IOL causes more unhappy patients than any other IOL. In my opinion its old technology and should be taken off the market.

Your symptoms are those of dysphotopsia. Use the search feature and archives to read more.

Ghosting is a form of dyphotopsia and is a partial extra image more of an outline. Diplopia is true double vision where two entirely whole images are seen one of which goes away with shutting or covering one eye.

Your dyphotopsia may go away but most don't.

I have not suggestions to you as I have been recommending in this forum for over two years that patients not have ReZoom put in their eyes.

the doctor told me he chose 3-piece rezoom over restor because the risk of displacement was lower.now my near vision is good, i can read and write without glasses, and the only problem is ghosting, distance vision will also improve after laser.
i have seen many patients satisfied with rezoom on this forum ,
