Thank you. I have searched his site pretty extensively and I can't find where anyone will say how intermediate vision will be after having both eyes set for distance. I realize that this will probably vary by the individual but what is the range. Some people are saying anything inward of 9 feet will be blurry and orthers say within 24 inches. Is that the range of possibilities? What is a realistic depth that I will see at clearly after surgery?
Your choice of IOL power is no different than anyone choosing to have cataract surgery. Use the search feature and look at choosing IOL power, mini-monofocal with distance or near bias, true monofocal.

My situation is similar. Will be having cataract surgery in 2 months, both eyes, 2 weeks apart. My situation is similar although my prescription is -10.5 (contacts). If I have both eyes done for distance, how will my intermediate vision be? I don't mind wearing glasses for reading but worry about watching TV, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Its likely that your increased myopia is due to the cataract. After surgery is done your glasses is usually much much thinner and your vision with and without glasses much better. There is some chance your distance vision could be 0.00 and you might just need glasses to read.
When one eye is fixed they will not work togehter until the second eye is done. Generally that is 4-7 weeks after the first eye. You are at increased risk of retinal detachment after cataract surgery and your retina should be checked frequently: 1 day, 1 week, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 4 months 6 months 1 year (or something like that) with dilation and ideally by a retina Eye MD.
