Halos after Toric Lens Implant

Halos after Toric Lens Implant

Am hoping you can offer some advice. I had  a Acrysof IQ Toric lens implanted in my right eye on 6/14/10. The first few days I saw dripping  like a faucet dripping and flickering.  It was most annoying but I was told this would pass, as this was just the water inserted during surgery releaseing from my eye. I will say I do not see the dripping but now I see flickering of light if there is any form of light coming from my right side. If the sun hits my eye from the right I have to hold my hand at the side of my head as the flickering is so strong. I can only read if the light is over, behind or in front of me not to the right of me.  I have also noticed that night driving is worse due to the large halos around any form of light including the moon. Again I was told this would pass as my eye is still healing.  How long does your eye take to heal? It has been over 6 months.  Now reading other posts I found the term Positive Dysphtopsia. Could this be my dx?  If so, can anything be done? I appreciate your time and feedback. Thank you, Diane

Hi im coming to the 6 month stage as well you are not alone,I get like flickering light like reflection of lens, and like seeing the edge of lens, mine comes from above llight like a spot light in darkish room, also i suffer with some halos which have turned into slight glare round things ,which have improve abit, and starburst when you look at alight, which go away when carrying on staring at it,
Right I found out it more to do with your pupil size to the lens, try this test, when you wake up in the morning or night after sleeping ,find the light in house what does the flickering to your eyes and i bet its harder to see,you have to move you head and try hard to see it,this is because your puils are tiny, now you can get drops which shrink your pupils on the evening which i think will solve this problem more, but obviously you got to keep taking them ,ive been told mine should go away after 6 months to 12months,due to positive  dysphtopsia, which i dont think will go,i will try these drops after this, but saying that after this time and they say its not going to go,i think i will except it more and learn to ignore it more, and just be happy with the good vision I have,i was born like a blind mole who ***** contact lens, thick rimmed glasses, where i use to get reflection from,Now i can see with out all this..so im grateful for that, yes i want perfect vision like normal people,we have manmade vision with state of the art technology so we always going to have niggling little things going on ,theres no way i would have it changed, with all the risks which involved, which doctors dont tell you,and go for all this trauma mentally and physically,to have a new lens with the same problem again!
