Halos and starbursts

Hello from Finland!

I had lasik in February and I believe it was a mistake. I am 59 and both eyes were -3.5. I had monovision and now the values are -1.5 in left eye and +0.25 in right eye. Gradually I am  used with this, but I see starbursts and halos around  the car lights even on day time. I visited another doctor, who suggested small enhancement in left eye (-1.5), because he said my pupil size will be large in darkness. However, they tested pupil size being 5.5 mm (maybe in day light?) and the original surgeon said the ablation area is 6.5 mm. Also he said that transition zone is 8 mm. I have glasses and feeling is that starbursts are worse in right eye (+0.25), when wearing glasses, so the enhancement may not help. I read in photography about starburst filters, to generate effects, which are made by engraving tiny stripes on the surface of the filter. Is this same phenomenon caused by laser "stripes" and can I expect that starbursts and halos disappear? Is the flap ever healing and adhering better on the stroma?
Which one is better, to try see starbursts or try to avoid seeing them?

I don't think there is a comparison between starbursts caused by a filter that is designed to create starburst and the lasik where it is an undesired side effect.

Lasik flap problems are generally easy to diagnose and it seems neither your surgeon nor the consultant indicated that was the problem

Can I still expect to get rid of starbursts? They are very annoying.

If they haven't gone away in 6 months waiting is no longer a good plan. Get more opinions

I wonder, what can be done. I think. enhancement won't solve this problem.

Starburst is a common side-effect of Lasik. Had Lasik 10 yrs ago, and had starburst. Yeah it was annoying initially, but improves a bit as time goes by, which could be due to my power regressing a bit. I too doubt if enhancement would solve this problem. Never got any enhancement, did not wish to spend any more money. Also I think one surgery too many is just asking for trouble. Anyway, I was -8, now -1.75. I could live with that.
