Hazy Vision following Scleral Buckle Surgery

Hazy Vision following Scleral Buckle Surgery

I had a scleral buckle inserted in my right eye in October 2010 to re-attach the retina.  The macula had not detached at the time of the surgery.

The surgery was said to be successful, however, 3 months later and a new set of glasses, I still can't see well with my right eye.  The vision is hazy/blurry and while I can tell when I'm typing this note that the words behind the haze are probably in focus, my right eye is basically useless.

Is it normal for the vision to still be hazy/blurry after 3 months - and with new glasses?  Will the haze/blur eventually go away?  How long does it take to fully recover from this sort of surgery?

Does anyone know anyone who is happy with their vision following the insertion of a scleral buckle?

Thanks for any input you may have!

Vision may not return to normal.  The key factor is if the macula was detached or not.  Please discuss with your retinal surgeon.
