Help with post squint op

Hi,

i had an esotropic (looking in) right eye as a young child which i had corrected with surgery but years later when i was around 14 i noticed the eye wasn't normal and had now developed an exotropic (looking out) squint.

I am now 21 and have just had further surgery to correct the exotropia last friday. The eye is slowly healing and the redness fading however the eye is nowhere near straight. It appears to have been over corrected and now looks inward.

I was wondering if this is normal and whether the eye is likely to allign itself once the redness and swelling dissapears completely or whether the surgeon has made a mistake and over corrected the eye?

Has anyone else had this experience after this surgery and how long (if ever) did it take to correct itself?

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Each eye muscle operation takes longer, to heal, the eye stays redder longer, and it more difficult to get the eyes straight. Chances are it will tak several months for your eye to whiten up. As for the position it may change  and its too early to tell.
