Herpes in eye??

About 3-4 weeks ago i rubbed my eyes after touching an outbreak of herpes type 1 (stupid i know). Ever since then i have had pain behind my eye, dry burny feeling, and intermittent foggy vision. I have gone to 3 primary care doctors, 3 optomotrists, and 2 opthamologists and they have said that my eye is clear. I am taking acyclovir just in case and have for about 2 weeks now. I have never had eye problems and it seems like too much of a coincidence to be something else. I heard that herpes rests in your nerves behind your eyes so is that what could be causing the pain and the outbreak just hasnt happened yet? Please help i am really scared and depressed, thank you

Dear angelajared,

I would recommend that you become educated about the possible chances of an eye infection.  Education will provide reassurance.  I would want to know more about what you were told about the cause of your eye issues.
