High Myopia

High Myopia

My son is 2 years old. He was born during 7th month. His left eye is having -4.5 & right eye is -9. Doctor told that the eye with -4.5 is having some damaged nerve inside. High Myopia
My question is whether it is normal?? Whether this condition will be stable in future or will be worsen?? What is the remedy??

Use the search feature and archives to read about progressive high myopia.  Ask your pediatric ophthalmologist about the use of atropine eye drops.  Another drop is in study but not available except under experimental protocols

As I said you will need to review all of these. It is simply too time consuming to do extra long posts againa and again on the same topic.  There is no accepted, fool proof treatment to stop myopia from progressing

Ask your child to look into far distance like on bird's,tree branches etc this habit can put myopia under control, since your child is too young, make frequent consultation with ophthalmologist as glass power varies rapidly during this period.
