Hit with a puck, bloody eye

by Rioghan, Nov 06, 2009 01:01AM
Last weekend I took a puck pretty hard in my left eye during a hockey game. My eyelid/orbital area swelled up pretty badly and my eye lid was even cut in 2 places. A day later the swelling down and my vision was fine, just a nasty looking black eye and some crazy red eye. However, 6 days later, I just noticed solid red in the bottom portion of my eyeball, thought nothing of it and that I just hadnt noticed it before. 2 hours later I looked in the mirror and the blood was alot closer to my iris. Is this just a burst blood vessel leaking out a bit or is this something to be concerned about. As it stands my vision seems to be fine.

Thanks for any help

I would see an ophthalmologist.  This type of injury can lead to a retinal detachment in the short term and glaucoma anc catararcts in the long or intermediate term.
