How to correct exophoria?

How to correct exophoria?

Hello
I'm 16 years old. I have squint eyes. The defect I have is exophoria-my right eye moves outward when focussing on a distant object. I have absolutely no vision problem, no diplopia or power. Just that it looks very bad and I want it corrected. Can you please tell me the possible methods of correction?
Thank you :)

You will need to have surgery to correct it.

Thank you for taking interest and answering. But, is there no other way, such as prisms, patches or eye drops for correcting this?

Thank you again :)

Prisms will alleviate double vision if present.  However, you seemed to be concerned about the appearance.

Hello

Does that mean that wearing prisms will not correct the squint appearance? So, will I still look squint? How about the eye drops and the patch?

Thanks :)

Hi, The prisms will turn the light in you eye, so that the picture you see will fall on your nervus opticus so that you can see.
Sometimes when treated with prisms or concav/conveks lenses, the eye will turn back to the "correct" place.
But go see an optometrist, I am, but can't help you from Denmark ;-)  - they will know what to do.
Anyway, the eye drops will not help you, only if you have dry eyes and the patch will only make the eye you wear it in front off lazy, so that your eyesight will drop.

Hope this might help you.

From Denmark, a good day
