Hypermetropia higher than +7.0

Hypermetropia higher than +7.0

Hello,

I'm 22 years old and I've had hypermetropia with a prescription of +7.5 for the last 17 years. I went to three different doctors for a consult on laser correction this year. All three seemed hesitant but, after the qualifying tests, one said he could do it (said he's had good results on similar cases), one said I don't qualify because of the high prescription, and the last one said that he "could" do it but he didn't recommended it because, to his knowledge, there is no "good" correction method for hypermetropia greater than +6.0 and I'd probably had to keep wearing glasses after the operation.

To your knowledge, for such a high hypermetropia prescription, is there any "good", recommended, or preffered correction method, clinic, etc?

You are getting good information and are definitely not a good candidate for laser vision correction.  Contact lenses or glasses are your best bet.  The only other option is clear lens extraction (CLE) with a lens implant, which is definitely not standard of care for someone your age.  That option would be reserved usually for someone in 50's or older as a general rule.
