I have no idea what is wrong with my eyelids...

HI Everyone. For the past two years I have had the same eye problem. It comes and go every month. I wake up with very itchy and dry eyelids. Sometimes they are red and swollen. The skin will start to flake off of them and they get VERY wrinkled. This has caused the skin around my eyes to become very dark. I was just looking in my eyelids today and noticed that there is a red bump underneath my top eyelids -- on both sides.  The corners of my eyes are also very painful.  Any advice?

I have been told that this is a contact dermatitis but I really dont think it is. The only that has made this problem go away is a steroid shot and that only works for a short time.
