I just had yag lazer and am seeing a black moving dot.

I had the yag lazer for the second time today, and on the way home, I noticed a black floater that looks like a fly. Do you think this means something went wrong or do you think it is temporary?I have three floaters in the other eye that were caused by a retinal tear.
What are the changes of this new one going away soon?

Dr Hagan, you remind me of my cataract surgeon. I am sorry but, it is true. I agree that no comments are indicated. You have made up your mind about my problems. I am so glad that I have the Mayo Clinic and several understand doctors. My days of dealing with Drs who are rude are over.

Actually I have had several opinions about my eye problems ,since having cataract surgery.  That is why I was asking you for one more.I suppose I will just have to wait and see how many times he will try the Yag laser before he gives up on it.Mayo Clinic is the best there is on my area,so I will stick with them,

Dr Hagan, I understand why a Yag laser is done,The floater is gone from that eye, but the cloud still remains, It is not as dense as it was last week,but the surgery has not worked and I have had it done twice now.

A yag is not done to get rid of floaters. Its done to improve the vision by making a hole in a cloudy secondy membrane behind the IOL. The yag laser often creates additional floaters some of which may take months to go away or for your brain to get use to them or tune them out. In other cases the floaters were already there but not visible because the vision was down, when the eye sees better then you see the floaters, this happens often with cataract surgery.

Since I had the Yag laser for the second time, about half the cloud is gone,but half still remains . The inflamation has been gone for over a month now,but the Yag is just not working, I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get rid of that secondary cataract cloud.
I have an appointment with my Dr tomorrow ,and I am wondering of he will keep trying that laser. Have you ever had to do it several times to accomplish your goal?

Good luck. your Eye MD surgeon will not consider it a bother if you call the office tomorrow to discuss with the staff.

Thank you so much for responding so quickly to my question. It does make me feel better that you have seen this situation with your patients. If the floaters increase or I see flashes of light, I will call my Dr . immediately.As I said, this is the second time I have had yag lazer on this eye. So far the cloud is still over my eye, but he told me it may take a while to clear,I have an appointment to go back on Friday.
Thank you again for your response, Dr Hagan. I hated to call him about something that is common.
My cloud is still thick but, I am hoping it will lift soon.

We do not give post-operative care advise. Call the office of the surgeon and ask them.

I personally tell all my patients that they will likely note an increase of floaters after a yag capsulotomy and it will take several days for them to settle down. These usally represent pieces of the membrane that is cut with the yag laser.
