I m been suffering from red eye for almost 1 and half month!!!! CAn anyone help me ?

HI, I am a student from MAlaysia, currently working and traveling in US for 3 months. ANd im having my red eyes before i came to US last month during i having my FInal exam. At first i thought it's just because i dint get enough sleep and i thought it will be recovered by its own. BUt after two weeks, my eyes are still red. Then i went to pharmarcy to get some eye drop. The eye drop was really help. After i drop it to my eye, my eyes will turn back to normal. BUt after awhile, my eyes getting red back.

THen, after two weeks . my situation was still like this ( red eye ---> drop the eye drop --> turn to normal --> after sometimes --> back to red ) i decided to consult a doctor. THe doctor said there arte some sand particle and dirts inside my eyes and he ask me not to worry abt it. Then he gave me an eye drop again (3 drops per day) and  an eye ointment ( 1g contain CHloramphenicol) ( only apply on night to clean ur eyes )

then after few days i departed to US, Harrisburg. And i lost my eye drop in the airport . i start my work for few days, but  yet my eyes are stilll red. SO i went to wal mart and get a new eyedrop ( clear eyes - redness relief , fast react, soothes & moisturizes ) i did put on the eye drop for few days but it's jz like the eye drop i get in Malaysia. the eyes turn to normal once i put on the eye drop. and it'll turn back to red after awhile.

im now very scared that i'll be like that for the [permanent. SO i do hope any specialists here can give me some solutions.

stop using "whiteners" eye drops like Murine, Visine, Cleareyes, etc. They set up a rebound type of redness themselves just like you describe.

Find an ophthalmologist year you at www.aao.org and go in to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist.
