I agree with Dr. Hagan, a lot of years have elapsed so you may not have cystoid macular edema but central serous choriodopathy or even wet or dry macula degeneration or macular pucker. You may have non of these and should follow up with your retinal specialist or get a second opinion from another retinologist but it is a good idea not to give them the info and opinion from first dr. It tends to bias drs. Go in fresh and get a novel and precise opinion and treatment plan. How old are you? You may have regrowth of the posterior subcapcapsular membrane from the extracted lens and floaters so check it out. Good luck
Likely you are talking about cystoid macular edema. This occurs frequently after cataract surgery but usually goes away. If it developed recently it would be hard to blame cataract surgery done a decade ago. Consider a second opinion from a retinal ophthalmologist.
