I see shadows on letters

Hi, I am a 36 year old male and I have always had better than 20/20 in both eys untill the last couple of years and now I am about or a little above 20/20.  Last week I had the influenza / H1N1 and the rear of my eyeballs hurt really bad.  I contributed this to be the result of coughing so much.  Today I was reading and the background color of the paper was white.  I noticed that only out of my right eye the letters on the page had a shadow on the left sides of the characters.  I rested my eye but this continued.  What could this be.  I just quit taking a zpack which is a antibiotic and generic zertech allergy meds.  The shadow is the same size as the character and only to the left of the character.  thanks

This is probably astigmatism.  See an ophthalmologist.
