IOL Displacement

I am presently experiencing very troublesome blurred vision in my right eye from a displaced IOL during cataract surgery. I have been prescribed a corrective lens that does nothing to improve vision. I am extremely concerned that I may have an irreversible situation and permanent impaired vision in the right eye. The surgery was done in May and led to severe macular edema which has been resolved fully; however, I am left with this impaired (corrected) vision. What I would like to know is can the displaced IOL be repositioned? And what might be involved in doing this? Can you please advise?

Get a second opinion, perhaps even a third opinion. IOLs can be recentered but its a fairly large procedure and one that doesn't need to be done often. Most areas have an Eye MD that specializes in post operative complications and has these types of cases referred to her/him for treatment. Find that person in your area or at least ask your surgeon how many IOL re-centering procedures he/she has done.
