IOL Explants

IOL Explants

Back in 2006 I had Restor IOL implants in both eyes. Second surgery on left eye had placed a piggyback lens over the Restor IOL. Second surgery on right eye had Restor removed and replaced with a Tecnis Monofocal Lens. Since surgery on left eye vision progressively worse due to a fogging in that eye. The right eye ended up with a detached retina. To which the vision in my right eye is now pinched. I've been told that this is the way my vision in the right eye will remain. My left eye, I am told can be corrected with laser. But the problem I have is that with the two lenses in that eye I have a slight double vision due to alignment of the two lenses. If I have the laser done it will make the removal of these lenses near impossible. I am looking to have the lenses explanted but need some direction as where to look for an experienced doctor. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Gary

You will have to do some research in your area.  Not many doctors are experience with exchanges.

I've been searching online and cannot find much info on the subject of IOL explantation and even less info about surgeons who are experienced at performing them.  Do you have any suggestions as to how to go about finding someone with this experience?  Thanks. SC
