IOL for buckle eye

IOL for buckle eye

To: Dr. O/ Dr available
Just to add I did some research on monovision so know what it is. I am not sure I would be happy or comfortable with the monovision if I opt for plano in right eye as I have had headaches with the present situation with the cataract in the right eye and seeing everything blurry near or far in comparison with the other eye. Also some lack of depth perception.
Perhaps mini monovision?  Do you have a suggestion?

I had mentioned 1.50 or 1.25 previously but can you tell me how far I would see with either of these diopters?

It seems my left eye is the dominant one although still not quite sure but thats how it seems..

I replied just previous to this with PAM result right eye = 20/30-1 and my refraction readings and right axial length.
Anyway would really appreciate yr comments as I am having cataract surgery tomorrow on right buckle eye.

I am thinking that down the line I may have to end up with IOL in left eye if need vitrectomy as already have floaters increasing in that eye which has previously also had a retinal detachment, but not buckle like the right eye. Therefore I would likely choose a distance lens for that eye especially as it seems the dominant eye.

I would also appreciate yr commenting on the possible distortion of vision in my right buckle eye whether worse off with near or distant vision.

This is nerveracking going into surgery with these questions as you can imagine and so hoping for a little more clarity thanks to your informative input.  Thank you.

I would set the right eye for near with a target about -1.25 it he left eye is dominant.  The distortion is about the same for distance and near from my personal experience as a patient and a doctor.
