IOL powers

For choosing IOL powers for eyes:   Is -2.0 in nondominant eye and -1.0 in dominant eye going to be good not just for near, but also for intermendiate?  How many feet out will the focal point for the intermediate be with a -1.0?  I would like to have clear vision out to atleast 10 feet.  
With IOL's aimed for nearsighted, it seems only the focal point is clear and all else is blurry.  I am opting for near/intermediate, hoping to only need glasses for driving.  Is these powers a correct choice?  My left eye has been done at -2.0  already, so I'm trying to decide on my dominat eye  (wanting more intermediate), whether -1.0 or -.5 might be better.  I don't know the distance each will give.  
Bottomline:  What are the feet out (or focal point distance) for each IOL power chosen?  My -2.0 has a 14" focal point. Anything closer or further is blurry. What will a -1.0 have?  What will a -.5 have as far as footage out?  I have not found any charts on this to help me decide on the IOL power I'd want.  Everyone (including doctors) talk about near, intermediate, and far.  What one person considers intermediate might be different from another's perspective for intermediate and so on.  
Also, do all of you experience alot of blurriness before and beyond the focal point the IOL has?  I thought blended vision or mini-monovision would not have this in the entire range choosen.  Thus if I want near/intermediate, I should not have any blurriness unless it's distance vision, whatever that footage is?!

It is important to remember, that no matter what implant is  chosen, there is a certain variability in outcome and this may influence the range of vision.  You should speak with your eyeMD to determine what he/she thinks is best for you.
