Increasing eye floaters

Increasing eye floaters

I have a numerous amount of floaters in my right eye and a few in my left. I have myopia and have visited an optometrist about the floaters and was told that they are normal. These floaters have increased in the past year extensively and are becoming extremely bothersome. I have read of other reasons for floaters and am wondering if seeing a another doctor should be of interest. Please help

Since the increase in floaters seems gradual and not sudden as well as there being no other visual disturbances, your experience is probably just due to aging. Eventually you'll learn to ignore the floaters and/or they'll settle down to the bottom of your eye.

However, it is better to be on the safe side, so yes, please seek out another opinion. This time visit an ophthalmologist, eye MD, not an optometrist. You can locate one near you by visiting www.aao.org.
