Interstitial Keratitis and Contacts??

Interstitial Keratitis and Contacts??

I am a 21 year old female. Two years ago, around March or April, I developed interstitial keratitis in my right eye. I was tested for syphilis, lime disease, tuberculosis, malaria but my test came out clean. Up to this point I had only been wearing contacts for about 15-18 hours per week. They were never able to figure out the cause of the interstitial keratitis. Four months later, after taking anti-inflammatory drops, the inflammation fully subsided and I just had residual ghost vessels in my cornea. I was told that I should never wear contacts again. I was told that any time there was a contact on my eye it would be denied of oxygen and could start the infection again. My parents have started to search for a surgeon who would be able to perform Lasik or some other corrective surgery on my eyes but it is proving difficult in my area. I understand the risk of wearing contacts but I am desperate for the option not to wear glasses. I have worn my contacts since being diagnosed, but I ran out. Do you think I could convince an optomologist to give me a new prescription for contacts?

Given what you've been told and the predatory malpractice lawyers in the USA I suspect not.
