Iris Color Change

Hello i have asked many questions about iris damage caused by a thermal heat burn many times but i have not found the answer i have been looking for could you please help. A year ago i was in a house fire the heat was extremely hot it singed my eyebrows and eyelashes the heat also came in contact with my eyes because i had to keep them open. Over the next couple of days i noticed a change in my eye color my eyes were fine and so was my sight but my eye color seemed to have changed a darker color for instance when the sun would shine in my eyes my eyes would turn a light green but now it just looks dark. Has the heat somehow damaged or effected the pigments in my iris causing my eye color to change darker. Since this has happened i have felt depressed and unhappy all i want is an answer to what has happened to my eye color. Could you please try to find an answer to what has happened as i will be realy great full thank you?

FIrst it is absolutely imperative that you have recently had your eyes checked by an Eye MD and discussed this with them. If not see one soon. Find one at www.aao.org

I can think of no mechanism in which heat would change the color of your iris. The only mechanims that might make it look different would be if the cornea was scarred. However that should be easy for the Eye MD to diagnose.

If this really bugs you then consider colored contacts in a color you find attractive.
