Irregular pupils & Eyelid Retraction-2nd Question.

RyJ
To: MJK MD / anyone who can help.
Thank you for your reply,

I have in the past used both - Eyedrops*for dry eyes, aswell as using whitening eye drops. But no longer use them.

Can you suggest any Lubricating eye drops?(wont this problem my eyelid retraction)

I was referred to an eye specialist(same woman)-twice over the past 5 years,But both times i was told-nothing to worry about, its just i have reaction problems with the pupils, thats all?both times given an eye drop in each eye to dilute the pupils.

Ultimately,Is any of these problems solveable, can it be cured?or will it get worse?

*How is this information taken by other local doctors? Is this legit enough,as evidence to suggest certain things. And do i have the right to print this off,to show them?-Reason i ask is,when i attend the eye specialist,i feel as though im wasting her time.

Thank you once again for your help

I wonder if a CT of the orbits would be indicated to rule out any underlying cause.  Your symptoms sound so much like throid eye disease which you can have even without furter thyroid disease. Just  a suggestion.

Ok, i will follow on from the information you have given me.
Are you able to declare whether the pupil problem can be correct?

Thanks

You may have severe dry eyes and there are definitely treatments that can help your symptoms (lubricating drops like Thera-Tears or Optive - use them every 30-60 minutes during the day and lubricating gel like Genteal gel at bedtime.  Consider oral flax/fish oil oral supplements like Thera Tears Nutrition capsules and finally - stop using the computer so much.  That could be the biggest source of your problems.
Oh - one more thing - eye whitening drops can definitely aggrevate your dry eyes and also cause the eyelid to look retracted.  Try the "whitening drop in just one eye and compare it to the other in a few minutes - you may see that eye have eyelid retracted and pupil larger.  THis could easily be the reason for your symptoms of eyelid and pupil.
As far as your doctor - simply write down all your symptoms and questions and bring them to the doctor.  My comments will not really be that helpful because I'm just taking my best guess from far away with no actual true knowledge of your eyes.  Just speculating from some of the things you have told me.
