Is it to soon for patching

I took my son back to see the pediatric opt.  He had been wearing his glasses for a month now and we went back to see his improvement.  The doctor said he had made significant improvment and he wants us now to start patching his rt eye for 2hrs a day and return back to see him in another month. he mentioned his rt eye still went inward very little.
Was it too soon for the doctor to decide to start patching? I thought patching was used only when wearing the glasses did not work. Im sacred the doctor will next say he needs surgery.  Are there doctors that will lead a patient to surgery by not treating them properly?  Should i have gotten a second opinon regarting my sons eyesight ?  Will dialating his eyes interfear with his treatment and how often can a 23 month old have his eyes dialated?

It is obvious you are not comfortable with his recommendation.  Get a second opinion.

I feel his treatment is appropriate but I do not see kids.
