Is this a symptom of Sperical Aberation? Contact Lens Question....

I am a slightly myopic (-2.0/-2.25) 45 year old contact lense wearer and my opthalmist has just swapped me over to a different manufacturer for my Contact Lenses. Have been a long-time wearer of B&L Purevision lenses but due to the improved Dkt (oxygen transmission?) of the new lenses (Ciba air optix Day & Night) he feels these are better for me.

Being a pilot, my vision is of utmost importance, and since wearing the new lenses I find that whilst in bright conditions such as full sun, brightly lit room etc, my vision with the new lenses is fine, as soon as the light is reduced, my vision becomes more blurred.

I have read some marketing blurb from B&L that seems to indicate what I am experiencing is Sperical Aberation but my opthalmist seems to think I will get used to it. and feels it isn't significant. From the point of view of needing my eyes to be 100% particularly when flying at night, to me it isn't significant.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this and is the B&L blurb correct in the diagnosis?

Thanks in advance.
