Is this possible caused by High blood pressure?

by janetzhang, Dec 17, 2007 04:50PM
My mother is 69 years old, and she is kind of very nervous person. yesterday night, she saw a black float in her sight, and she remember that her eyes were slightly hit when she hold a baby. After she realized this, her blood pressure went to 200/92, and the black dot even darker.

Today, she seems better, and the black dot sight has been lighter. I am told that under the sunshine, the black dot turns to red.

Is that possible the blood clot caused by high blood pressure?

thanks,

The answer is yes - she could possibly have problem related to blood pressure.  She could have bleeding in the eye or a blocked blood vessel in the eye or macular degeneration - all of which could cause a black blind spot in the vision.  If the black spot is very small - it could be simply a floater.  She should see an ophthalmologist tomorrow.
