Itchy, dry eyes with yellow coloring on very edge or sclera

Recently I had a fever I believe and a headace, then I woke up a couple of days ago with a light yellowish color around the edge when I pull back the eye lids a little farther.  They have felt dry as well and I put eye drops in which only help for a few hours.  There is also a small amount of soreness behind my eyes.  What do you think this could be?  Could this be from my previous sickness, or something else.  I don't think I have ever had this eye irritation after a fever.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks!

Yellow discoloration of the sclera can be a sign of jaundice or elevated bilirubin usually due to liver disease.  You should see an ophthalmologist to see exactly what is going on.  It is also possible that you are just seeing some normal discoloration due to age and also have very dry eyes.  Sorry, but we can't tell from here what you have so make an appointment asap with an eyeMD ophthalmologist.
