Laser Capsulotomy after Crystalens Implantation

My mother had crystalens implanted during her cataract surgery in 2010. But she has had discomfort in the eye ever since. Her ophthalmologist repeatedly said that it was not related to the surgery, but on the last consultation admitted it to be capsular thickening and advised laser capsulotomy. I need to know does the crystalens loose it's accommodation after the laser procedure? Dr Okayama pls if you could reply quickly.....
