Lasik, Cataract and night vision.

I recently was led into believing that I was a candidate of Lasik Eye surgery. The doctor conveniently opted not to dilate my pupils although I knew they were 8 mm when fully dilated. When I argued that this may lead to night vision issues, he counter argued that I will not notice a different since my eye glasses will never be accurately centered and that will have the same result of a smaller optical zone. to cut a long story short, the quality of my night vision is bad especially since I have posterior polar cataract in both eyes with the right one being noticeably larger.

After reading about my situation, I came to a conclusion that Lasik may never correct my night vision, however at some point I will have to undergo cataract surgery. reading all options available today I think I may go for Crystalens. My question is in two folder.

1. will Lasik ever correct my night vision issue?
2. can a lens like Crystalens correct the untreated area of my cornea perhaps by just blocking it all together or some other measure?

Thanks

1. Never have surgery with a surgeon you are arguing with and can't get answers or get along prior to surgery.
2. With a cataract you are not a good candidate for lasik; depending on the size of the PPC and the glare it causes you may want to go ahead with surgery and put in an IOL.
3. Know that surgery on a posterior polar catarct has greater than normal risks because there is often a hole in the posterior capsule where the cataract was.
4. I would get a second and third opinion about your situation.
