I've now been referred for two scans--a brain MRI and what they called, an "Orbit MRI". (To be completed on Monday, August 8th.)  What are the differences between these, as well as the advantages--one over the other?  Why is a contrast dye used in the latter procedure?  Would it be reasonable to expect, that if the results come back negative, that since this--a comprehensive study, had shown no problems, I'd have no need for worry?  Or is this only the beginning?  I guess I should have asked:  How comprehensive are these two scans, when it applies to the diagnosis of eye-crossing?  My doctor did mention that most definitely, a referral to a specialist would be in order--following some screening to know which specialist I  needed to see.  I'm not only concerned over my possible diagnosis, but over the fact that I am on Medicaid.  Will I even be able to get the care that I may need in the near future?

You should be seen by a neuro-ophthalmologist first.  They should order the correct test.
