Thank for your prompt reply.
I don't know whether there is a horseshoe tear or not. None of my medical reports have the word "horseshoe", its pretty much superior lattice, myopic disc and snail track.
Are horseshoe tracks difficult to see in an indirect retinal examination?
You will get many opinion. I believe you do not need laser treatment for lattice even with flashes UNLESS you develop a horseshoe tear. Laser can to lattice can not prevent a retinal detachment since a tear can occur in normal appearing retina. The complications of laser is about 5%--epiretinal membrane formation and possible retinal tear leading to detachment. 8% to 10% of the population has lattice degeneration. An acute horseshoe tears has about a 35% chance of leading to a retinal detachment without treatment.
