Lazy eye and cataract surgery

I am 42 years old and was diagnosed with aggressive cataracts (no diabetes just inherited) I also have a lazy eye,I have had cataract surgery in my good eye and the dr used a distance lens, he mentioned putting a mild near-sighted lens in my lazy eye so I can see close up. I was wondering if that is a good thing to do or not?

Only you can decide. You need to understand all your options. Having said that it is a popular option. THe biggest thing is not to make the myopic near correction too strong. (generally about -1.25 is easy to adjust to in an eye that doesn't need glasses for distance).
