Left Eye Pain When Opening/Closing Eyelid

Left Eye Pain When Opening/Closing Eyelid

Yesterday I noticed a slight pain in my left eye that only occurred when I opened and closed my eyelid. Rubbing the eye still causes pain, but it is less and more tolerable. Looking around with that eye produces no pain, I DO NOT have swelling and there is slight redness on both eyes but it is not even noticeable when looked at by another person.

The only excessive activity I have been doing is blowing my nose heavily from having a cold. The medicine I have been taking for that is Theraflu Sinus & Cold. However I do not believe this is the cause because this morning when I awoke after 9 hours of sleep, the pain was instantaneously felt.

I am very worried. I don't know what this is, and I am really scared if this turns out to be Glaucoma.

This is not a glaucoma symptom and suggests something in the eye (like a particle) or eyelash rubbing on eye. Since you are in pain try and see an ophthalmologist tomorrow. Find one at www.aao.org
