Left eye and face area swollen

21 female I woke up with my left eye swollen. by afternoon it was left side of face. I went to Dr and they thought MAYBE allergy to something and told me to take benadryl  It does seems to be helping.   I did have a red tender area in middle of forehead with very slight swelling 2 days earlier but it went away pretty quickly.  Could this really be an allergy?  2 years ago I had swelling of hands or foot at different times just a time or two....   any suggestions what this could be?

I'm not a doc, but it sounds like a roaring infection to me.  No insurance?  Suck it up and dig up a couple of hundred to front a visit with your dentist,  Many will accept a payment plan, and it's waay better than futzing with sinus surgery due to an extending tooth infection,

Hi, I am a community leader here not a doctor. I have a lot of experience helping eye patients including myself. Welcome to our community.

Could be an allergy. My eyes get very swollen sometimes--mostly the lids and under the eyes, from allergy.

If you want reassurance about your eyes, see an eye MD, an ophthalmologist. Find one
at www.aao.org.

Dr. Hagan will review my post and add any information that he thinks you should have.

Write back if you need to.
