Lesion in back of eye

During a routine exam with dilation, my eye doctor noticed a small, white lesion
in the back of my right eye.  He said he did not know what it was and referred me to
a retina specialist for further testing.  Could you please list some of the things
that this could be?  Everything else in the exam was fine. Thank you for your time
in answering my question.

I think it would be a great idea for you to call your doctor and as him what exactly he thought it might be.  From your description, which it very limited, I don't even know where to start - chorioretinal scar, nevus, old toxoplasmosis scar, old toxocara scar, old histoplasmosis scar, other???   I believe if it was something worrisome that he would have at least given you some indication.  Just because he wasn't sure what it was does not mean it was something bad.  Call him.
