Light/sun sensitivity

Does contact lenses make somebody more sensitive to light/sun .My son wears contact lenses since years, He always had trouble with bright light or sun( even when he was only wearing glasses) ,; with bright light or sun he has a hard time to keep his eyes open and at time can not see because he feels the light too bright even if light not that bright  ( and his eyes also  feel swollen at that time) My son says it is getting worse with years. Now, also says that he feels pressure in one eye ,feels pain in that eye ( states the pain is not like when his eyes getting irritated and he has "floaters ( says it looks like piece of dusts floating)  He decided to not wear his contact lenses for a while .He had to  change kind of contact lenses few times in past years.Can somebody have some kind of eye disease or if he should not wear contact lenses at all, ;with his glasses the problem is still there but not as bad .My son is 22 years old.

Light sensitivity is also very common amongst high myopes, particular those with pathological or degenerative types. That is something that you need to consider here and would be consistent with an increase in floaters.

I would recommend that you take your son to seek the care of an eyeMD. It is possible that contact lenses can cause irritation to the eyes; however, the light sensitivity along with the floaters sound suspicious for inflammation inside the eye.
